Subtle Ways To Look Younger

As we get older, our faces and bodies start to change. Your skin will become less elastic, your skin tone can look dull, and fine lines appear. Aging is a natural process, but most of us would prefer to hold onto our youthful appearance. However, a lot of anti-aging tricks can make you look obviously ‘done’, which can have the opposite effect. Try these subtle tricks to look younger, without looking like you’ve had work done.

Get A Subtle Lift

There are a few cosmetic procedures that can make you look great for your age without drastically changing your appearance. You could have treatments like a chemical peel to brighten a dull skin tone. Consider something like Blepharoplasty to lift the first areas that give away your age. If the work is good, these lifts can be hard to spot, so nobody but you has to know. Even Botox can be very subtle, but make a big difference to how you look.

Moisturize

As you get older, your skin will start to look duller and can become dry. Treat yourself to a rich moisturizer. Put this on every day after you shower when your skin is best able to take in the moisture.

Wear an SPF

Are you skipping the SPF on overcast days? UV rays can damage your skin even when the sun isn’t out. The sun ages your skin a lot. We’ve all seen those sun-worshippers on vacation who look like they’re made of leather. If you drive a lot, you could also end up with more sun damage on the side of your face that is nearest the window.

To protect your skin, wear an SPF every day. Any skin exposed to the sun should be protected, including your hands. If you forget your hands, they can age fast stand out against your younger-looking face.

Sleep On Your Back

The position that you sleep in could impact the way you age. Sleeping on your side or front can create a furrow in your skin, adding to the appearance of deepening lines. To prevent this from happening, try to learn to sleep on your back instead.

Get More Sleep

Sleep is one of the most effective things you can do for better health and a younger appearance. If you sleep enough, you won’t get dark circles, which can make you look tired and much older. Going to bed a little bit earlier can help. You’ll have more energy too.

Don’t Rub Your Eyes

The skin around the eyes is thin and delicate. When you rub your eyes, you can break some of the small capillaries around the eye area. This then makes the skin around the eyes dark, dull, and thick, which makes you look much older and more tired. Don’t rub your eyes. Instead, look after your eyes with a rich eye cream to keep them bright, and be gentle when you take off any eye makeup.
