How to Care For Your Eyes

The eyes are the window to the soul, and you need to keep them sparkling. A lot of people don’t pay much attention to their eye health, but sight is the ultimate sense, and a lot of people will go above and beyond to ensure their sight stays pristine and is well taken care of. If you are making a to-do list for the new year, here is something to add to it as far as taking care of your eye health is considered.

See an Eye Doctor

Many people with good vision don’t necessarily think they have to see an eye doctor regularly, but you should. Eye doctors do more than just have you read off of a chart with one eye closed. They go into your eye to make sure everything from the front of your eye to the back of your eye is healthy

When they look into the back of the eye, they can see if you are at risk for any eye disease and can help you fight it off. On the other hand, they can tell you that you have nothing to worry about and that you are doing fine. Either way, you will know for sure how your eyes are doing, and that is all that matters.

Eat Foods With Vitamin A

Vitamin A is great for your eye health. Vitamin A helps keep your eyes healthy by promoting good circulation to the eyes and keeping the overall mechanisms of the eye healthy. Foods like salmon, cheeses, and livers are all good choices as well as taking a daily vitamin supplement. What you put into your body is the most important decision you make everyday, so make good choices and watch your health improve or your already good health maintain itself.

Wear Blue Light Glasses

We all sit at a computer for one reason or another, and all that blue light that comes off of the computer screen can really damage your eyes. Bjorn blue light glasses are designed to block the computer screen light and keep your eyes safe while you are working. The blue light can make your vision blurry and can diminish your eyesight over time.

When you block the blue light out you are doing yourself a service and your eyes a service by keeping them protected while you work those long hours. Since so many people work from home these days, blue light glasses are seeing a huge surge. Get on board and see what everyone is talking about.

Wear Sunglasses

Protect your eyes at all costs. If you wear contact lenses, take them out at night, if you are going to be out and about driving or walking around, wear sunglasses. Harmful UV light or any kind of bright light can seriously damage your eyes by putting a huge strain on the retina. When you wear sunglasses, you block out those lights and you protect your eyes, and prevent squinting, which causes you to develop eye wrinkles.
